Day Seven! I've made it a week into the challenge! Hooray! I'm having an extrodinarily good time with this challenge, and I'm glad I decided to participate. Still a ways to go, but I know I'll make it!
We didn't get any of the snow the forecast was predicting, as expected :) Even more of the snow is melted. The background of this image is generally shadowed by trees and garage so there is significantly more snow than anywhere else. If I turned around and shot the opposite side, it'd be green instead of green/white patches. It has definetly been an odd winter this year. But here is another plant past its prime, but still standing strong, long, and lean.
Love the sharpness of the branch. I have no idea what it is, but is holds within itself jewels that are beautiful even though the season of it's prime is long over. I'm glad you took it from the side where there is snow, as it really makes it stand out. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty image! I love the great focus on the fine detail in the plant; those little parts look like hearts! Amazing how many of the plants you've selected for photos are of the strong orange hues!

ReplyDeleteGreat crispness to the plant here! Was it tricky to get all of the little leaves in perfect focus? There is almost no DoF blur here and that sets it apart from your average plant macro. Well done!
ReplyDeletemeerkitty - it took MANY shots and lots of aperture adjustments, different camera levels/angles etc to get them in focus. Took forever to finally get them in focus.
